Love our new chargers. We purchased the 6ft white and a 6ft black iPhone sync and charge cable plus a RND dual port USB charger. So far, about 3 weeks in, we love all the products. The main reason for purchasing these was so my wife could sit at her desk at work and still charge and talk on her phone, and so we could charge while in bed. I don't know why Apple hasn't come out with this years ago! Some reviewers complain about the sync capabilities, and that may be why Apple didn't make them, but who needs to be six feet away from their computer? And you can't even talk while syncing so this review is not about sync capabilities. (Ok, I had to, I plugged it in to my Mac and it started syncing immediately...)
We decided to go with RND because of the high reviews, because RND always responds to negative reviews/product errors and appears to correct them, and because their products are "Made for iPhone" and come in retail packaging. There are many long USB cable that do not meet any of these requirements, and most of those have 3 stars max. The cables are not made out of the same material as the Apple cable; RND have a stiffer, plastic-y feel compared to Apple's more flexible, softer feel. But, how often do you cuddle with your USB cable? Not a big deal. The additional bonus was the black cable. Apple seems bound by law to only make white charging devices, so they are constantly dirty and gritty. The black cable is more discreet and hides better by her work desk.
We also bought the RND USB charger. The two minor issues I have with the charger are 1. The annoying red LED. At night this casts an eerie glow across the room. Another reason she brought that one to work. 2. It was not in retail packaging. I was a little concerned at first by this, but it charges an iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S at the same time, so no worries there. We love it, and wish we had bought one sooner. It also costs around $20 cheaper than the Apple wall plug.
Highly recommend, and will hopefully not have to buy any in the near future. I know this is written rather quickly after getting the products, but I will be back on here if they start to fall apart or fry my phone.
This works great. It charges my iPhone and iPad at the same time and works like a charm. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution to your dual power needs this is the product for you. My only complaint is that the adapter is bigger than I would prefer, and there is an annoying red light on the top. Otherwise, it is great.
